Photographer’s Note
Jinmao and the SWFC towers in Pudong, Shanghai China.
I have heard quite a bit of stories about the architecture of the shanghai world financial center towers.. It was designed by a japanese architect and he wanted a circle shaped opening.. but it was dismissed saying that would represent a japanese flag.. and one would not expect a flag of another country in the pride of the economic development... and then it was changed to the rectangle shape which is now.. however the japanese architect wanted to leave a mark on this building.. and so made the tower in the shape of a samurai sword.. and so goes the urban legend that each side or a different angle the contur of the building depicts the samurai sword... not sure if this is just a urban legend or someone pulled a fastone on me.. however this is a great sight
