"This statue (or set of statues) is called "The Family of Man". It is outside Calgary Board of Education offices (Calgary Education Centre). The address is 515 Macleod Trail S.E., Calgary, Alberta, Canada. These statues were first built by Mario Armengol for Britain's Pavilion at Expo 67 (Montreal). The statues are 21 feet tall. The statues were purchased by Maxwell Cummings and Sons, who then donated them to the CBE."

Exciting contrast between artwork and city architecture!
The low point of view works well, contrasting the sculptures against the skyline...
A balanced composition with fine details!

The long sculptures harmonize with the huge buildings perfectly. To huge buildings big family true.:) Very spectacular photo, with a superb composition. Splendid shot. Have a nice day!

a a little approximate framing with a statue left crossed, but the great angle gave depth to have in bottom the building and there is the crane which géne, overall without looking at the image too much is pleasant to look at and I will retain only that

The vertical format is the best way to frame the sculptures. The point of view is showing with precision the details and colors of the sculptures, it is also sending our eyes toward the buildings in the background which is givimg depth to the photo. The strong light has a good effect on the picture. have a nice day.

Beautiful work with this wide angle shot. Sharp details and very good depth against the blue sky.
TFS and have a great weekend.

Good use of the vertical to emphasise the height of the buildings and the background buildings. The framing is a bit tight as regards the group of statues on the left but, of course, I am unaware how much room for manoeuvre you had. Pleasing soft light and colours.

very interesting statues, very meaningful! It would have been nice if you have had a wider lenses to be able to not crop those statues on the left.
It's hard to tell if you took it at eye level or if you got lower to take it. I really have a hard time evaluating this, mainly because you say they're 21feet tall.
it's good to see that there still are cranes working in Calgary!!

The statues provide good lines with a clear rhythm and the pastel colours of the buildings in the background are also quite good in the composition!

I pass through Calgary, but didn't have time to stop, just looking at it from the freeway. Trying to get back to the U.S. from the Banff. Beautiful shot of the sculptures. Looks like they are dancing. Good DoF both artwork and background are nice and sharpe. not many people around accept these tall people.

Great shot of these statues and the high buildings in the background. I like the light on the trees in the background and all the little leaves in the grass. Great POV with wonderful light, colours and details!

une mégalopole qui nous offre ses charmes modernes architecturaux avec un abvant-plan bien choisi, accentuant la profondeur. La grue montre une ville en plein e expansion.

Hi Chris. Looks like you have had to work with a difficult light for this shot, but the overall effect adds to the surreal nature of the statues and is quite eye catching. Thanks for sharing.
Have a good Sunday, Paul.

A surreal shot I find. I love this kind of dance of these elongated giants... Apart from the aesthetics of these works of art, I like the optical effect compared to the background. Beautiful and interesting glance Chris, bravo.
With all my friendships and soon
