Photographer’s Note

Janus Door? no no this is the neigbour^s door. The door that we run across in most of the districts in small cities, towns or villages in Turkey.

How many people live there, what do they eat, what do they talk? We might not know...but we know one thing for sure that if you knock their door, there's a 90% chance that you might be welcomed with a big smile.

Bu tür kapıları gördüğümde aklıma o hep eski zamanların sıcak komşuluk ilişkileri gelir. İpi görünce de aklıma anahtar deliğinden dışarıya doğru sarkıtılan ve dışarıdan çekildiğinde kapının açılmasını sağlayan ipli mekanizma geldi birden. Sanırım buradakinin işlevi farklı. Belki de kapıyı rahat vurabilmek içindir kim bilir ? Sade, hoş, farklı bir kompozisyon. Tebrikler.

kapı rengi, dokusu, ışığı herşeyi ve not da çok güzel... çerçeve rengi tercihim; iç kısım beyaz, dış kısım ise lacivert olurdu benim..

Hi Didem,

I like old windows and doors and this one is a great finding! Lovelly blue color and great decayed texture. The typical nob is beautiful. I would have pushed a little more the levels and sharpness to get mote of the texture. The colored frame kind of distract the attention from the suject...

The symmetry is broken only by the slender rope dangling from the door knob on one side. The colors, the worn out wood, the textures are all well depicted.
