Photographer’s Note
Tasmania has some of the best hikes in Australia and the "Overland" hike is possibly the best of them all. The hike is typically done over 6 days, although some people take extra days to do additional side tracks, while others like to power-walk it for excercise sake and take less days to complete the hike. In season (1 November to 30 April) the walk starts at Cradle Mountain and ends at Lake St. Clair. The walk is at least 62km, typically reaching over 80km when you include the most common side trecks and mountain climbs. Upon reaching Lake St. Clair, there is an option to either walk the length of the lake or take a ferry to reach the other side, where the hike officially ends.
This photo taken from the ferry around 10am. After 7 days of walking over some tough terrain, we opted to take the ferry across this very peaceful and beautiful lake.

Very serene picture, with nice soft colors. I like the glanze in the water, like a mirror. Beautiful!

Hi Rob,
I like this simple but nice composition, the delicate, filigree structure of the tree, the soft light, the vertical format enhancing the reflections... thanks for sharing.

Günther

what a wonderful calm scenery of the pretty almost lonely tree within its surrounding! :-) the hazy atmosphere and the
reflections on the slightly rippled water are great. well seen & captured, thor.

hi Rob,
I like this photo a lot, it has a Zen-like quality I always enjoy, and since you don't have anything in the photo to indicate scale (in this case I like it), the tree could very well be a bonsai, and that illusion only emphasises the meditative mood of the shot.
one observation about the presentation - I do like simple white frames, for me they make the post very neat and sort of "complete", but I've been told (and I follow that advice) that is is a good idea to put a 2 or 3-pixel black frame between a white frame and "bright" photos, like yours, to better separate photo from the frame. I put a WS to show what I mean and to illustrate the point, nothing more, the photo does not need any adjustments.
best,
Kristine

Beutiful very simple image. The strong light, the reflection, this is so well caught.
