Photographer’s Note
Chitkul (3450 mts ~ 12000ft+) is the last village outpost on the old India-Tibet highway. The motorable road ends here and if you cross the mountains ahead, your'e in Tibet. Interestingly, on the right in Rupin pass leading to Uttaranchal. This place is perhaps the most idyllic place of Kinnaur district, Himachal Pradesh on the upper himalayas.
When we reached there in June, the snow had considerably melted, the fast flowing Baspa river bearing testimony.
