Photographer’s Note
Char Minar is one of the prettiest buildings in Bukhara (one of my favourite cities in the world). Although it looks like a mosque, it is in fact just a gatehouse for a medressa (Islamic school) that no longer exists. Now it functions as a shop. I find the combination of turquoise domes and sandy coloured bricks to be particularly appealing. It's diminuative proportions compared with some of the other huge buildings around the city make this structure seem "cute".
The pool in the foreground is one of many around the city that used to be used for washing and drinking. They were drained many years ago because the stagnant water spread disease.
The woman to the right of the frame is herding turkeys.

Hi Jonathan, a beautiful composition and photo for a not so often seen country, depth of field and colors as well as sharpness & light are superb, just a little bit of noise in the sky, you could NI it and it would be perfect !

A very nice and interesting architecture shot. I laos like the activity of humans and animals in the square. The sky is a bit noisy, but I think that it can be improved easily. See my WS. Very well done, Jonathan.
