Photographer’s Note
Wolf's Lair in Poland.
Atempt to assassinate Adolf Hitler in a meeting held in this headquarters on July 20th 1944.
This is the remains of a concrete wall belonging to one of the many buildings there.
I have just seen the movie by Tom Cruise and think this post can be useful for people interested in this historical event.
Greetings from Spain.

Hi Vicente!
People tend to stick twigs and branches to "support" the wall (I also had my small contribution as a child), as if it would have any impact on its stability, funny...
I have almost identical shot of this bunker. With eqally washed-out sky, it's hard to capture the dynamic range of the scenery.
It's a pity that this shot (well, mine too...)includes no people to stress the thickness of the wall - as far as I remember, it was about 2 meters thick.
When my mother visited the place at school, more than 40 years ago, there were still some remnants of the camouflage nets, during the WW2 the whole area was hidden not to be seen even from the aeroplane.
I'm pleased to see this place, I hope you had no problems with getting there? The road is not perfectly marked.
You should change the location - yes, it's near Kętrzyn, but it's Gierłoż.
