Photographer’s Note
This is a picture taken as we were sailing along the Gerlache Strait between the mainland of Antarctic Peninsula and two large islands: Anvers Island and Brabant Island. The land mass in the picture is the Anvers Island. The undulating landscape with multiple mountain peaks shrouded in cloud illustrate the sometimes mystic mood of the Antarctic. The iceberg in front was included as a foreground for the composition.
The faint yellowish tint to the snow in the distance is a constant phenomenon seen in the Antarctic. I still do not fully comprehend the physics behind it.
Picture was taken at 64,41.88S, 63,10.43W
Picture was taken with a polarizing filter.

Hello Conrad,
What a beautiful antarctic view of the island that bears the name of my home city. Crystal clear tones of white to bluer.

Very dramatic and powerful landscape image, Conrad. Nicely composed and both foreground and background are sharply detailed. You have managed the strong sunlight well even as it is reflecting on the stark white surfaces. Very nice work.

Great catch of snow and ice with such a beautiful light. I like the different kind of blue. A beautiful picture.

Hi Conrad,
really amazing place. All the pictures that you made there are really beautiful. I suppose that you consumed all the memory cards available, taking pictures continously in those stunning places. The picture gives us the exact perception of what you felt there.
Very nice
Benedetto
