Photographer’s Note

Chattru bridge ( over 4000 mtrs altitude) is an iconic image in the minds of those that travel to Spiti...however only a handful will ever see it under 2 mtrs of snow...or the Chandra river as a mere trickle.

It was minus 10 celsius in the bright sunshine and dipped to minus 35 at night.

A heli ride helped get us this location...and more importantly, out of there!

Hi Vijay,
Nice high altitude image, we get it from the intense sky and your exposure is excellent, you might want to crop a bit of dark foreground to get even more luminous and clone out your shadow but these are minor details I like the picture a lot.

A rare sogjht oi,ndeed, brpigjt in an impressive way. Light well managed with full details in the snow and shadows visible, all under a high altitude blue sky.

What a lovely piece of snow carpet all around!!!! The light and the exposure is perfect with all the details.. i just feel a little crop from right and bottom would have make it more attractive..
Anyway a superb view..

Vijay,
This is a great shot of this bridge peering out from under a thick blanket of snow. Your light management is excellent here providing good detail of the bridge without overexposing the snow. The colors are great with outstanding sharpness and DOF. The deep blue sky provides wonderful contrast for the scene.

Bonjour Vijay,
il fallait une belle photo bien réussie pour restituer la beauté sans faille de ce paysage de montagne. Pari gagné.
Des températures très basses mais l'absence de brume et d'humidité, un temps très clair, propice aux beaux clichés.

Your picture is enough to make me boiling.. leave work... rush to my real home HIMALAYA...
This is one of the great picture of snow capped mountain with blue sky in background and that bridge is adding beauty.
