Photographer’s Note

Istanbul's mosques are a treat to the eyes with its elaborated tiles, beatiful glass windows and big round lamps. Yeni Camii or New Mosque was built after a fire destroyed the area in the 1660s by a request of the Sultan Mehemt IV's mother.

I visited this mosque in the Company of Burgu and Mali who were extraordinary hosts in showing me around the bazaar area. Thanks a lot!

Very nice interior capture from my homecity.

I don't like my latest shots enough for posting them on TE. Not posting photos is keeping me away from TE for 1-2 weeks and I missed your only Istanbul photo!!..
While I was waiting for you outside, I see you really worked well. Your point of view against the praying men under extremly-high ceiling and frame touching curve of lights is simply beautiful... Men provide a scale for the huge interior here... I now see that it was worth my waiting and it was a real joy to stroll around with you, Flavia, I really hope to meet you in Indonesia. Btw, please post some more from Istanbul, I would like to see here from your eyes :)

Hi Flavia. i must compliment you on this interior shot. i tried photographing a number of mosques in Istanbul but i had never captured the details as well as you and retained the beauty of the various sources of light. My compliments. Klaudio.
