Photographer’s Note
Seated under the sacred Mahabhodi Tree in Bodhagaya ,in India (the place where the Buddha became enlightened) a crowd of pilgrims are awaiting the arrival of the 17th Karmapa Lama, the spiritual head of the 'Black Hat' sect of Tibetan Buddhism. He escaped from Chinese occupied Tibet in 2000 and joined His Holiness the Dali Lama. Since then he has become an important world spiritual leader. There is a sense of excitement and expectation in the crowd of his followers as they await his arrival in Buddhism’s most holy site.

Hi Kevin,
You have captured a unique moment here, i guess the spirit of the encoubter is well shown in their anxious faces and you were really lucky to be there to live that moment!
Thanks for sharing,

Hello Kevin,
Beautiful and interesting picture with very nice colours and good sharpness. It's strange to see a few western faces and backpacks between the pilgrims.
Best regards, Paul

There are several interesting things in this shot. For example, only a few women present and they all except one look very western, the back pack on bottom right appears to take someone’s place, on the top left corner one guy is wearing a mask.
I like the strong pp of this picture. Well done.

hi Kevin
India! A place I would plan to visit one day. The colors are essentially a strong presence in this shot that make the monks stand out in the repetitive seating arrangement. Very good work.

Bonjour, cher Kevin,
L'on sent bien à travers cette composition cette ferveur qui se dégage de la part des fidèles attendant le maître spirituel.
Un très bel instantané d'un moment particulier.
Amitiés.

Hi Kevin,
So many faces, so many different expressions, although behind the expression each one with the same expectation. A very fine capture.
I envy you your time there, it must have been a wonderful experience.

Hello Kevin
You've captured a special moment and the way you've added contrast to the image gave an interesting result. I've noticed there are few women as well taking part of the ceremony...
Cheers from Phnom Penh

P.S We will be back to BKK on march the 25th and I might stay for (more/less) a week. Maybe, I'll see you there ;)

I like looking at the expressions of the faces, some can hardly contain themselves the exepected arrival is just too much, while others sit in silence and glow inwardly. Nice work kevin.
