Photographer’s Note
I was given the day off on Feb the 18th which allowed me the chance to drive to North Vancouver for the day. Part of my venture was Cypress Mountain and the other was the shoreline in North Vancouver.
If you look closely the photo posted in my Previous Posting you will see the view from the top of the stairs under the big Q sign.
I was very impressed with the way that North Vancouver has built the waterfront over the years. Over 20 years ago I used to live in North Vancouver and took the Sea Bus to Vancouver every morning. This viewpoint here is adjacent to the Sea Bus terminal. If you were to drive to the bottom of Lonsdale Avenue, this is the view you would see. There are plenty of interesting shops here along the waterfront, and besides the Quay hotel is a tugboat company which helps navigate the cargo ships into the Vancouver docks. If you notice from my
Of note the Canon 10-22 lens allowed me this perspective from leaning over the handrail to compose these perspective lines. As with most wide angle lens, photoshop lens distortion correction helped me align the vertical and horizontal lines correctly. I trust you will enjoy this viewpoint.

Hi Paul,
Beautiful shot seen from Lonsdale Quay. I like the vertical format and the depth you have created by having the boats in the foreground and the city view in the distance. Great POV with wonderful light, details and great colours! Great work and great quality!

Hi Paul
Good use of the wide angle as it allows both height and depth. The redds in the metal work are nicely complimented by the blue in the sky and water. Well done.

Hi Paul
you know the song: if a picture paints a thousand words. This is one of them, for sure. The photo is technically perfect and full of feeling for your Vancouver. The light and the colors are superb. Accompanied by your note, this is a composition that makes me curious to visit Vancouver soonest possible when I am retired!
Warm regards

Nice shot Paul;
I like how the horizon lies on the third of the frame and the focal spire also lies on the vertical third. Making for a dynamic shot. The polariser (guessing) has afforded you a really nice deep blue in the sky, however I think you might have lost a bit of detail in the shadows there.
Overall a nice shot mate.

Hello Paul,
The attractive quay has been very well composed with an accurate vertical framing. A strong contrast and shadows that the morning sunlight created give a power to the image.

Bonjour Paul,
Amicalement.
Daniel.

Hi Paul.
Haven't looked at your shots for a while, but I can see there's no diminution of quality, either in composition or exposure. This one's a beauty, with the strong perspective achieved by the two piers. The red and blue tones are superb, and you even got a person with a red top in the scene too. Great view of the distant skyline, beyond the ranks of tugboats. Nice use of wide angle in this orientation, and excellent distortion removal. I really love the subdued light and deep colours. A real cracker of a photo.

Andrew
