i read " Europe >> Belgium >> Wallonia >> Liege"... unbelievable - as this portrait looks as if the model was photographed in the 1940s in some nazi concentration camp...

A classic..!!! Would have loved to take this shot myself..The black and white makes the picture seem as if take in the world war 2 era during the war times. The look on the girl's face shows a glimmer of hope...

Rare de voir un portrait dans la galerie belge...c'est tout simplement magnifique, tout est impeccable, lumière, texture, ce regard, l'expression...l'effet obtenu par l'arrière-plan. Remarque, on pourrait faire sans, tellement la petite fille est impressionnante. Couper plus près de sa tête plus équilibré. De tout manière c'est très très beau, mes compliments les plus sincères. Du beau travail. Encore !

Striking, unusually beautiful portrait of no time, no place.. might be shot in the Ukraine at the time of catastrophic hunger before the WW2, during the river flow in Poland in 1990-ies.. doesn't matter really.. shows little girl and how fragile she is and this is purely universal.

Bonjour Frederic,

Bravo pour ce portrait excellent. La fille et sa regard sont merveilleux, et prennent une place exemplaire dans la composition. Mais pour moi c'est ce qui se passe en arrière plan qui rend la photo vraiment très, très réussite! Comme l'ombre de la mort...le noir et la blanche... Superb!

Voici encore une expression bien saisie,cette petite puce à l'air tristounette surement du fait qu'elle aie froid,en tout cas,ce n&b est très bien réalisé.
