Photographer’s Note

The picture was taken in Elassona which is a town and a municipality in the Larissa Prefecture in Greece.
Its geography includes farmlands in the valley areas, the mountains to the west and east and forests in the west and east as well as grasslands, ledges are to be founded in some areas and barren area in the higher elevations.

Elassona is flowed by a river called the Elassonitis and the Titarisio, both empties into the Pineios River, Thessaly's longest river. The river divides the town into two parts, the older city which is built on the Olympiotissa hill (the one in the picture) and is also Varossi, and in the new city which is in the right side of the bank of the river.

Elassona is situated at the foot of Mount Olympus, the mythic place of the twelve Olympian gods and the highest mountain in Greece (2,919 metres high). Since its base is located at sea level, it is one of the highest mountains in Europe in terms of topographic prominence, the relative altitude from base to top.

Here you can admire the majesty of Olympus mountain -full of snow- and the Olympiotissa hill in Olympian Gods' arms!

It seems like a painting.. it was exactly like a painting while viewing it!
