Photographer’s Note

Kos marina - an almost brand new marina with magnificent facilities and great atmosphere. Although this marina does not house multi-million yachts there are some fine boats there to enjoy seeing, or if one just likes to tour marinas the nice café (bottom left) or tavern (in the back, not visible here) which are always full of yachties and just visitors are good options.
Some people I know have left their "ordinary life" - some in Europe and some in the US, bought a boat, and spend their time sailing during the summer and resting in a chosen marina during the winter. When I asked one of them who was living on a luxurious boat equipped with state of the art technology about his daily routine the answer was "I lead a simple life - wake up early in the morning, make some breakfast, take a trip somewhere near the marina (or not), clean the boat a little, rest some, meet some people and it's evening already"...
Simple life indeed...

A classic greek summer shot Liora:-) indeed living on a boat is a simple way of life but on the perfect side;-)...The separation of the frame in two by the road works excellent!

Delightful holiday shot from the marina, Liora. Good use of the diagonal road to create the lower left triangle with the small street café, and the opposite one with the view of the array of boats oriented towards the open sea. Wonderful mediterranean colors. After a quite intense week at work I could sure use some of that "simple life", thanks.

I agree that is a classic greek summer scene. Very impressive photo, all these yachts makes a "forest" with their masts! Very nice idea!

Very nice Liora, this looks like a very wonderful place to visit. Great exposure with the seemingly harsh lighting conditions showing great detail in the white boats. I like the story you included in your note, goes well with the title :)
