Photographer’s Note
Taken in the evening twilight on the Széchenyi Chain Bridge, which was closed to road traffic for the weekend and was hosting an open-air festival and fair with souvenir stands, food and drinks and live music and performances. Locals, as well as many tourists, were out enjoying the sights and sounds and the wonderful atmosphere.
The Széchenyi Chain Bridge (Széchenyi lánchíd) was opened in 1849 and was the first permanent bridge built across the Danube in Budapest. It is one of the most beautiful industrial monuments in Europe.

Dear, Michael, I really like the involving atmosphere of this summer-night, and especially your point of view. You captured the Bridge from the most usual point of view, all of us who have ever stepped on the bridge cuold see it, but official postcard-photographers have never done such a photo: vivid, lovely, well-balanced. Regards, Jalab
