Photographer’s Note
Well another milestone. This is my 200th post taken in the Palouse region of eastern Washington State. For this shot I converted it to B&W and applied the infrared filter plus some selective levels adjustments.

Hello Phil,
Congratulations with your 200th post on TE !
Good choice for black and white for this picture and nice inclusion of the dead tree in the corner. A dramatic looking stormy sky with much light on the landscape.
Best regards, Paul

Hi Phil and happy "anniversary"! I wish you 'll keep posting like this for many more hundreds to come!
You chose an outstanding photo, a true work of art (would make a perfect poster!), to "celebrate"! top class landscape photography, excellent, "delicate" composition and framing, perfect light managment and b&w conversion, fantastic atmosphere! Congratulations!

Hi Phil,
Congrats on your 200th post and what a fine b&w image you have chosen for the occasion.
The petrified tree makes a striking lead-in to the lovely rolling hills and stormy sky. Excellent clear sharp shot.

Congratulations for your 200th, Phil!
In my opinion & based on pictures I've seen so far, the Palouse region, so stark and lonely, makes a perfect subject for B&W. Your dramatic angle and lighting does the rest, the result is simply amazing. TFS! Have a good day, buddy. I'll be seeing you.

Hey, Phil, congratulations on your 200th post and it's a fine one! A very powerful shot! I love the bare branches in the FG and the lighting and contrast is just superb. It looks great in B&W and I love those dark menacing clouds to the left. This is just incredibly nice. Many thanks and again, congratulations,
Shelly

Hello Phil! Oh yes, this is the way to celebrate, with some storm clouds approaching. There were many smaller and bigger storms on TE during 200 uploads I guess, you learned, you saw, you got feedback, maybe here and there reason to be a little angry but the sun came back in any case and then we smile again and enjoy each other's company which is the main purpose besides learning about photography and what goes on in the world and on our wonderful planet. Very nice choice to turn this into b/w, it is a little more stormy this way. I put Washington State on my wish list, this seems to be a wonderful place to visit. Thanks for showing, this is really beautiful. Happy Sunday, Barbara.

Hi, Phil -
In these days of color, it helps to remember that B&W has a unique perspective to offer. The way the light plays around the tree, the fields and the clouds makes this a powerful image in B&W.
Best,
Dan

Congratulations dear Phil, for this milestone. I have to say I love the infrared effect, it enhances what must already have been quite a mood, beautiful simplicity of the landscape, going towards a certain minimalism. I wonder if you used Neatimage on the sky ? the whole could take some grain, personal taste :-).
Have a great week.

Congratulations on your 200th post. This is an impressive storm and I love the framing of the single barren tree against the curving fence line and horizon.

Nice one Phil, Really eerie mood in somewhat of a baron land. The tree in the FG gives it nice depth and the many 'layers' provide a good contrast to the threatening, moody sky. Regards, TW
