Hovden is a village in Bø municipality in Nordland county. Hovden is situated northeast of the county and is limited by Malnes Bay in the east and the sea in the north and west. The place is at the end of Fv915. Hovden is a fishing village which lies near the rich fishing grounds off Vesterålen. Processing of fish has, in addition to fishing, given the number of jobs.
Hovden was in the late 1800s to be with one of the kings ness after the place was buying goods that heads to private ownership. These are driven largely by traditional breeding of fish, salted and dried. Hovden is particularly beneficial to the drying of fish. With mild winters, which have Hovden and a late spring arrived, the fish hanging on the rack of time to dry before it is sour. This is important for the quality and thus the price that was possible to achieve this.
