Photographer’s Note
Seems like you can't go to Jasper without stopping at Medicine Lake, on the way to Maligne Lake. But it also seems like no one ever goes beyond the viewpoint right off the road, so all of our shots look the same. And in this case, I'm guilty of that offense. :)
The weather was quickly deteriorating after one of the nicer days we had on our trip, culminating in a gray blah-fest at Maligne Lake. But there was still enough light to illuminate the distant mountain here. Wish I knew its name.
These flowers were beautiful, but not very cooperative at coming into focus. In hindsight I was a bit close to them.

This really is a gorgeous shot...the rich colors, the breathtaking landscape and the very nice composition. It looks like a dream location or something you might see in a happier version of Lord of the Rings.
My sole constructive criticism is on the border - it is so large I feel like the shot could just be that much larger and more enjoyable.
Thanks for posting!

The blurred flowers really make a good starting point to observe this beautiful scenery. The light over the mountain in the background is superb and makes a nice focal point. I love it. Well done.

Hi Clark. I agree with your prescription- relief, sanity without pills.Lovely scene, restful light and gentle colours. The yellow flowers are echoed nicely by the yellowish green colours on the distant mnt. regards. Klaudio.

Hi Clark,
A beautiful lake! And you managed to compose this shot so well. This viewpoint is excellent because it allow us to see the mountains in the background. The clouds break the blue sky nicely adding a softer atmosphere to the image. Nice work Clark :-)

Clark that is a wonderful shot of Medicine Lake - I have a similar view shot later in the year, made from two photos into a panorama. It doesn't have the nice foreground you exhibit in this image and has less water. This one is so nice with the control you took of the light, the bright mountain in the background and evenly exposed foreground. It makes me wish we had visited Alberta earlier in the summer. What you have posted of your trip has helped prepare me for my next trip, well, anywhere, but especially to the Canadian Rockies.
Thank you,

Hi Clark,
well, I forgive you that you chose the "common" point of view since this is a great one! The flowers in the foreground, the clouds and mostly that amazing light on the distant mountain! Well exposed shot, razor sharp from corner to corner. I believe it`s a place to burn a lot of CF cards, right? ;-) Man, I must visit it myself one day!!!!
Stunning shot, I love it!
Take care

Hi Clark,
impressive scenery! I like the layout starting with the flowers leading up to the moutain and the clouds. Exposure is good and this light in the background the icing on the cake.

Hello Clark -
This is a nice image and makes me want to travel to the Canadian Rockies. The image though looks a bit soft both in the FG and BG. The BG looks to be the worse of the two and I am wondering if it is the f/10 DOF vs focus point or the slight push of the sensor extremes on the mountain. Anyway well seen.
Thank you for sharing.

Very beautiful Clark. I like your editing here very much. Sometimes I think you go a bit "wild" on those saturation sliders, but here you decided to leave it very natural and I like that. Your composition is perfect. There's a lot of depth from the yellow flowers in the foreground to the mountains on the back. I miss a little overall sharpness though. Great one!
