Photographer’s Note
For Hindus, Puri is one of the holiest pilgrimage places in India – the centre of religious attraction being the Jagannath Temple built in 1198. Incredibly the temple employs about 6000 people to perform the complicated rituals involved in caring for the gods. About 20000 people are dependent on the temple for their livelihood. The temple kitchens employing 400 cooks is reportedly the largest in the world.
The other attraction of Puri is the long sandy beach –which attracts travelers from all over India and abroad.
This was shot early in the morning - there was a heavy fog cover which had started clearing.

An excellent picture, Somak. It catches the feel of a foggy morning, and the composition is good with people, sun and footprints forming one triangle, enclosing another formed by the sun's reflections, the shoreline and the far side of the river. Lovely.
