Photographer’s Note
This photo was taken in Melbourne new Docklands retail complex where most the shops are factory outlets characterised by the so called “huge savings” they claim to be doing.
The idea of savings goes hand on hand with the message that the federal government and the Prime Minister are trying to pass on all Australians that to fight the financial crisis we should be spending, spending, spending!
Enjoy the 20, 30, 40, 50% savings!!!

Hi Antonio. This saving money by spending is an oxymoron that an awful lot of people live their lives by, me, I just spend for the sake of spending ;-). Well seen and well captured. Thanks for sharing.
Cheers, Paul.

H Antonio, a really apt political point you're making. On top of that is the brilliant capture of the people walking by in reflection. A unique and though-provoking shot, thanks for sharing, Lisa.

Hi Antonio
That's exactly the idea, but who can take from the ones that don't have anything left? The situation here is really bad. The poorly paid civil servants and teachers are now the privilaged ones and the flourishing middle class is steadily going down. God bless us all!

I like the composition of colors and shapes. My first reaction is that i would cut of the wall on the right. But looking further this would mean you'd spoil the reflection in the glass. A picture with several layers, well done.

Hi Antonio,
I just wish I had some money to spend.
Funny shot, certainly encapsulates the times we live in at the moment.
What I like is the bare window display, great to get the discount but, I can't see anything to spend it on.

I am not sure that from an economical point of view, thhis is the best way to get out of the crisis (especially if you do not have the money), but I like the graphism.

hi Antonio
Consumer spending, as the economists advise us to do. Theory and practice sometimes can have discrepancies and these recent times, the theory can be proven wrong? Global financial system is in disorder? Very timely capture of the signs that tell us more about the situation we are facing now. Good placement of the signs on the glass.

They are inviting to spend more money. Yes the outlets are more popular every where and they are really giving big discounts. Clever and excellent caught from shop window while the reflections and silhouette of lady are adding great value. Vivid colors from graphics.

Hello Antonio -
This image sure does reflect the times very well - anything to get the consumers into the stores. We are being inundated with the sales advertising every day on the telly. I do like the image and the reflection. As a personal note I would have liked to have seen more of the reflection superimposed on the sales sign. Anyway - well seen and presented.
Thank you for sharing.

Hi Antonio.
Yes, 50% off WHAT? Something exorbitantly priced to begin with, of course. I don't know how those businesses survive; I find that whole area to be a bit soulless and sterile. But you made an interesting reflection photo from the simple shop window scene. There seems to be nothing in there! But the reflection shows there's some life on the outside. Nice shot and very topical note!

Dear Antonio,
thanks for the response which is very useful to me. Sorry should there be a midlead here The building is actually a house, but it can be a "surau" or "smaller mosque for kampung locals". The bigger mosque is known as "Masjid Jamek " or main mosque where it is used for Friday Prayer or congregation . In the surau you cannot perform Friday prayers.
Thanks and really appreciate you questions.
As for your phot O really like it graphival effects and colours.
Stands out very well and challenges the mind too.
Very interesting and catchy.
