Photographer’s Note
Going back to the blues for a moment. Mondays always give me the Blues...
Back to the Big Muddy Blues Festival on the banks of the Big Muddy Mississippi River, at Laclede's Landing, September 2, 2002 in St. Louis Missouri. I had a camera I inherited from my dad when he died, another Olympus with an amazing 3.3 megapixel resolution.
There were several great bands at this festival - Big Jack Johnson, Billy Boy Arnold, Little Bobby Parker. Oliver Sain, Willie Kent & Johnnie Johnson and this guy, Michael Burks, a smokin' guitarist with some wild facial expressions.
This is the best shot I got of Michael Burks, he was walking around the crowd, wailing on his guitar. It was another of those times when you thank BB King or Robert Johnson or whomever is the God of the Blues that you were standing just where you were at that particular moment, experiencing something new and something old at the same exact time.
I have to go through the shots I have from this one - I think I might have a couple more worth hearing, er I mean looking at.
Have a great Monday, y'all.

HI Reed, that big man just jumps out of this photo at you! Beautiful pin-sharp image, great DOf dspite the large aperture and nice inclusion of the appreciative crowd. Congrats, it's a fantastic daily life shot, Lisa.
