Heart of Provence
Middle of July
Combine harvester replaced the men and their sickles
Much less poetry but more speed
I wanted heat, odorous scents because it's a gray day without sun today in Normandy and I wanted to share with you:)

Magnifique photo parfaitement cadrée. Les présences humaines donnent de la vie à l'image.
En outre cette vue est instructive car elle présente bien la façon dont la lavande est récoltée.

I never imagined harvesting lavender with machine like this. Their lines are already created splendid graphical effect. Including running vehicle and workers are excellent idea. Color differences between harvested/unharvested lines of lavenders are fantastic. Congratulations. Have a nice weekend.

Bonjour Patrice,
A view that is very graphical and beautiful but also very interesting by showing the process of harvesting. Good not to include the horizon and to ocncentrate on the field and the machinery. Wonderful contrast between the purple foreground and the green colour of the harvested lavender.

This is a well composed shot using the rows of lavender to lead the eye through the shot. The color change when the lavender goes through the harvester creates excellent contrast. The lighting and colors are great with excellent sharpness and DOF.

Hello Patrice,an excellent documentary shot, now we know how it is done!
Very good composition with plenty of space for the harvester to move into.
Good sharp details and lovely colours;I can almost smell the lavender!

Quoi ? Il n'y a pas eu de soleil en Normandie aujourd'hui ? Incroyable, on était à Cancale et l'aprèm' a été superbe, vraiment. Depuis quand les bretons ont du beau temps et pas nous ? lol !

En tout cas, si c'était le prétexte pour nous offrir une image aussi belle que celle-ci, pourvu qu'il fasse gris souvent ;o)
Tout est parfaitement pensé dans cette image, le cadrage est évidemment génial, ton point de vue exploite formidablement le relief incroyable du champ, et la douce lumière fait le reste... Comme j'aurais aimé la tenter celle-ci !!
Magnifique, bravo et merci pour l'avant-goût d'été.

I like this scene as the monster machine eats up the rows of purple and leaves only green behind. Nice soft flowing lines, a good image of people at work.

Un cadrage bien efficace avec ce premier plan de lavande en fleur, puis les hommes et la machine qui laisse les buissons verts. En plus d etre tres graphique, on voit sur cette photo, en une seule image, comment se pratique la recolte.

Bonjour Patrice,

Un vrai travail de précision joliment mis en image ici, j'aime beaucoup ce cadrage qui donne une bonne profondeur à l'image. Les lumière, la netteté et les couleurs naturelles sont superbes. Il ne nous manque plus que la bonne odeur enivrante de la lavande qui, à cette époque de l'année, doit être à son paroxisme... Merci Patrice.

This is an image that is both informative and very nice to look at! You chose a pov that creates a very dynamic picture, and at the same time what happens is completely clear even to the non-specialist's eye!

On the comp POV, I may be tempted to crop a thin line of the top, so as to make the angle between the border of the image and the lavender lines a bit "harder", but it's a minor detail and I don't really think it's worth a workshop - but should you require it, I'd be glad to oblige, of course!
