Another view of the Grand Canyon, South Rim. The lesser visited North Rim, is visible in the distance. The building at right is the "Kolb Studio".
"One of the historic structures in the (Grand Canyon) village area, is the Kolb Studio, established by the Ellsworth and Emory Kolb. Ellsworth Kolb came to the canyon in 1901 and his brother Emory arrived a year later. The two set up photographic facilities, including in 1906 a darkroom down in the canyon at Indian Gardens, where water was available. Initially they took pictures of tourists on mules as they began their trip down into the canyon on Bright Angel Trail. After photographing the tourists at the top one of the brothers would hurry down 3,000 feet to Indian Gardens, develop the pictures, and return to the top before the tourists returned. After starting with pictures of the tourists, the brothers developed the business further with pictures of the canyon itself."

The foreground provides additional interest and brings depth to the image. The rocks in the canyon are well rendered with very good colours and excellent sharpness.

This is one of my dreamplaces, a place that I hope I'll be lucky to visit at least once in my life! Great composition and framing, great inclusion of this house (?) on the right, to add a second point of interest! Great light managment, beautiful colours! Congratulations!

For me, an unknown view of the Grand Canyon, because it includes this house on the right! I really like the colors and the brightness of this picture! A great contrast of colors, brightness, textures and shapes dividing the image with a diagonal line - superb composition!
TFS - congratulations!

The point of view leads our eyes toward the horizon which is giving depth to the photo. It is also allowing us to the details and colors of this area of the Grand Canyon. The picture is clear and sharp. The light has a good effect on the colors of the scenery. Have a nice day.
