Photographer’s Note

Biskupin is an archaelogical site and a life-size model of an Iron Age fortified settlement in Poland. It belongs to the Biskupin group of the Lusatian culture (ca. 1300 BC – 500 BC). The excavation and the reconstruction of the prehistoric settlement have played an important part in Polish historical consciousness. The ancient Slavs were known for building wooden fortified settlements. The site was called the "Polish Pompei" or "Polish Herculaneum".

Hi Jan,

Another nice shot of this interesting site. Nice POV and composition. However, I think you went a bit overboard with the saturation. The grass looks almost neon green! ;o) Also, the sky is pretty noisy - I know, that usually happens with scans, but have you tried eliminating the noise with NeatImage or something similar?

Fajne sa te Twoje stare fotki z analoga. Kolorki traca mycha, ale maja klimacik. Swoja droga ten Biskupin to calkiem ciekawa sprawa.

This is a nicely composed shot with the walls framing the scene. The walkway leads the eye through the shot nicely. The lighting and colors are great with excellent sharpness and detail. The sky is a bit overexposed but it is still a fine shot.

Efektowna fotografijka. Te z lekka dziwnane kolorki i dosc nieralne chmurki to jak sie domyslam efekt opracowania starej fotki, czy raczej skanu w photoshopie. Nie powiem, podoba mi sie. Klimatyczna fotka.

cześć jan, Klasyczne zdjecie z Biskupina. A ja w Biskupinie jakos nigdy nie byłam. Powinnam sie kiedys wybrać. Ten zieleniutki kolorek troche zbyt intensywny.

an interesting view of remade old street.
quite like one scene in time-travel movie.
perhaps these houses and walls were one fortress against the enemies.
the time is changing but the sky and human struggles under it may be unchanging...
