Bathing downtown

Boys enjoying a swim in Stone Town, Zanzibar. I imagine that it’s a subject that has been often photographed. You just can’t miss the scene. Still, I was pleased to snap the shot! Notice that, a little sadly, this simple pleasure seems to be out of reach for their feminine counterpart. Might just be good for them in this case, because the quality of the water seems questionable.

Stone Town. Les garçons s’amusant à plonger depuis la rue longeant la mer ont sans doute été souvent photographiés. On ne peut juste pas les manquer. Quand même, j’étais content de mettre la scène dans ma petite boîte.

Really great daily life image, showing all the local boys and girls enjoying themselves - wait there is no girls, how strange to us. Anyhow, very different than many image from here of deserted beach scene from hotels and the usual tourist spots. I love it, an image fill with the essence of the local culture and life style and activities, very authentic. Good quality, good composition and natural and beautiful color and light, excellent work.

This photo is full of energy. The colours are brilliant. I like the movement of some boys among the stillness of others. This is a great shot!
