Photographer’s Note
The Hawa Mahal or Palace of the Winds is made of pink sandstone and reaches five storeys and was constructed in 1799 to enable ladies of the Royal household to watch the daily life of the city without being seen. The whole building is filled with tiny holes as well as small windows and shutters, and is not very deep, basically just a screen about one room deep.
I was not sure if I prefered this close up version or the complete building, so I have included that in the workshop, as well as a workshop photo of my cool travelling companion Andre (InasiaJones) taking some shots.

Hi Wanda, there's everything in this pic: a dynamic silhouette, black. A sharp, orange building with reflections on its windows. Beautiful!
Have a nice day

I like a lot this composition, with the strong colors of the building and the sky, the flattened perspective, and the blurred bird, which makes the picture original and different from standard

Hello Wanda! You cannot really compare the two, for me both versions are wonderful, here the bird is really special, how it flies through fast as the wind :))) and how you made us see the details of this fantastic building. We should use more color in our architecture, it makes such a difference when I think of all the grey around me. Beautiful photo, very nice! Best regards, Barbara.

Hello Wanda,
The Hawa Mahal is one of the most famous and often photographed buildings in India, yet you have managed to make it look quite fresh through this tight cropping and vertical format. And of course the blurred silhouette of the bird against the blue sky is the real eyecatcher.
Best regards,
Gert

Hi Wanda!
The vertical format works well and I like the diagonal with these little domes on top,the blurr at the crow and the amazing contrast with this deep blue sky.
Everything is perfect here,a great composition.

Hi Wanda, A much photographed building for sure - but this shot is a little different and for that I like it - (having said that I also like the one with the rickshaw driving past, except that he is a little dark. The bird is a nice addition to this, creating more of sense of the environment it is in. cheers, Steve

Hi Wanda,
Great shot with beautiful colours and superb lights. I like the decorative details and the bird gliding before the building. The narrow composition is very beautiful, splendid photo. Have a nice day!

Bonjour Wanda
I like better the close up, but it is also interesting to have the entire view of the palace in WS. Lovely details well displayed under a great light and attractive colors. To see the blue sky through the window and the capture of the flying crow are also nice details to look at!
Cheers

Hi Wanda,
Long time I've not been to your gallery... Beautiful picture with vivid colours and excelente framing showing all the nice details of this building. The flying bird adds a toch to the composition. Both pictures are very nice and seing the complete version gives a totally different perspective, but I still prefer the close-up version as the light is lightening the whole frame.
Regards,
Flavia

This place has been photographed so many times (not by me though:-)) & yet you came up with an original. Like the crop...very effective & moreso because of the contrast between the clear blue sky with the dominant orangish red of the Palace (in your note you've written Place..a typo). The flying bird is definitely a fine add...perhaps a faster shutter speed could have frozen it...but I do know it does not work that way, birds will not wait for us adjusting shutter speeds to make a flypast again...I like this, fine work! Great to see our friend taking shots in the WS.
Best Regards
Angshu
PS : Pls. be a bit patient for a couple of days for Varanasi shots. I have not been even able to download them from the camera onto my computer. I loved the place & wished I stayed for a day or two more. Beacuse it's a 'people's shot' place, the more one stays, the more are the chances that one would get something unique a shot. But I will surely post one on Saturday & that would be for you especially!

Hi Wanda!
You post beautiful photos, and your portrait are very moody and intriguing.
But I like a lot this unusual view of the Palace of the Winsm with a nice framing and the great silhouette of the flying bird
