Photographer’s Note
La Portada is a natural archway in the ocean about 20km to the north of Antofagasta. It has become an icon of the region and one of the most recognizable landmarks of Chile. This is another POV of this place.

Hello Jorge,
Beautiful framing for this marvellous natural archway. The contrast between the dark frame and the white stone of that 'portada' is really good.
Best regards, Paul

hola Jorge
maybe a tad too much black for my taste, but I have to note that the POV is quite interesting, framing the portada rock by the cave walls. good way to avoide flare too ;)

Hi Jorge,
Finally the photos from Chile. interesting natural frame and view of another one. Is it a landmark of Chile? I do not remember this view. I was in a bit similar place in Peru, near Pisco, but I have heard it collapsed during an eartquake. Nice place.
Warm regards

Hello Jorge,
Great idea to use the dark rocks as a framing.
Result is very interesting and eyecatcher.
Have a nice day,
JB.

Hola Jorge,
Bello lugar y excelente composición. Me gusta como queda enmarcada la segunda roca por los contornos de lo que parece una cueva. Una maravilla de la erosión con muy buena luz y detalles.

hi Jorge,
I agree with Kristaps that using this natural frame is a smart way to avoid glare from the sun, I'll have to remember the trick. hard to believe this is a natural formation, La Portada looks more like an elaborate marble arch to greet some king may be. good shot, I like it.
best,
Kristine

Hello Jorge
Like the way you framed here...the parallelogram like opening in the FG rocks creates a fine frame through which we see the La Portada. I did not know about this place but now I do. And thanks also for the wide view of this place, which I also liked...obviously this formation was part of the cliff on the left ages ago before the sea decided to cut through it. Good work!

Hi Jorge,
the framing is fantastic. Additionally the object is a frame itself. Very interesting.
Congratulations,

Hi Jorge,
A superb POV and great imagination for a natural frame.
We almost went to this area but realizing the distance from Arica, we chose to go to Lago Chungara instead.
Well done and TFS.
Regards,
Paul
