Photographer’s Note

This is another picture of the perfect the ice for skating on Lake Maelaren. Even if the ice it is about 10 cm almost looked like open water. All my ten last posts except Skaters in backlight are taken with skates on my feet and standing on the ice. I agree that it difficult to see the difference between water and ice in a photo.
Lake Maelaren is the third largest lake in Sweden. Major cities of Sweden are situated on the Lake or close to the lake. The eastermost bay of Maelaren is Riddarfjaerden in central Stockholm. Other cities around the lake are Vaesteraas, Eskilstuna, Soedertaelje and Uppsala. There are also many castles, palaces and manor houses around the lake.

I red your useful notes that this is another picture of the ice..But the colours of thsi
shot are breathtaking,powerful lights

Hi Ulf, The light is really excellent & the contrail is an added bonus, I love the timing of the gorgeous warm colours disappearing in the distance, the blue sky reflecting in the ice is also very good, a great shot, kind regards Wilson.

Hi Ulf,

You are lucky that there is no snow here. The ice looks marvellous. This is much better than in Falun, for I saw a lot of snow there on the lake in the reportage about the races there.. It must be great to skate here.

Hello Ulf,
As your beautiful shot shows, ice looks as good as water under sunset light. The composition is great, with so multicolored sky and its reflection in the ice. Also I like these two traces of planes in the sky. Perfectly good job!
