Photographer’s Note

Wast water is my favorite place because nearly everytime late sun rays draw a nice pictrue with shades and nice clouds.
This picture wasn't touched, just cropped from original ratio. I think that I didn't use any filters and tripod because I thought that I will find better view later, so I just tried hendheld, but I didn't.

Wast Water or Wastwater is a lake in the Lake District National Park, England. The lake is approximately 4.6 kilometres (almost 3 miles) long and 600 metres (more than a third of a mile) wide, and is located in the Wasdale valley. It is the deepest lake in England, at 79 metres (258 feet), and is owned by the National Trust.

It is one of the finest examples of a glacially 'over-deepened' valley. The surface of the lake is about 200 feet above sea level, while its bottom is over 50 feet below sea level.

The name of the lake and its valley is pronounced as in was, not with a hard a. The lake is named "Wast Water" on Ordnance Survey maps, but the spelling "Wastwater" is used with roughly equal frequency, including by its owner, the National Trust, along with the Cumbria Tourist Board, and the Lake District National Park Authority.

Hi Jiri,
What a fantastic photo, great POV, natural colours and sharpness. I'll hopefully get down to the Lake District at some point this year and get some photos taken. Great shot Jiri, thanks for sharing!

Ahoj Jirko,
cim vice fotek pridavas, tim mene me napada, jak ti je hodnotit, protoze bych u kazde napsala : "Moc se mi libi. SKvela kompozice. Krasne misto. Pekne osvetleni." Právě u tto fotky to vse zase plati. Fotis proste uz moc dobre a zhodnotit to na urovni uz by asi umel jen odbornik.
TAkze se tesim na dalsi pokoukani a zase ti ho stejne ohodnotim.

Hi Jiri:

Okay, you've got some great shots here, so I'm going to comment on a few. This is wonderful light, and a little different view of Wast Water than I'm used to. Pretty good for no PP. Did you use a polarizer? It doesn't seem like it--that's the only suggestion I would make for this type of shot. But I'm addicted to my polarizer, so I'm a little biased. :) Great job.
