Photographer’s Note

An old shop front seen in the little village of Saint-Saturnin-de-Lenne, a hardware shop by the look of it. I just liked the tones and textures.

Saint-Saturnin-de-Lenne is a quiet unassuming village in the Aveyron Départment of France. With a population of under 400, which has been steadily reducing over the past 40 years, it lies part way between Rodez and Millau in the valley of the River Serre. Its inhabitants are known as Saint-Saturninois.

Its economy relies heavily on agriculture including the raising or pigs and sheep and the making of Roquefort cheese and wine. There is also a saw mill locally. Not a place that merits a long detour but worth stopping for a while if you are passing through.
