Photographer's Note

Dear TE friends.
I'm a TE member since october 2006, I love this virtual square where who loves photography has the opportunity to meet friends and share his passion.
I met hundreds of interesting people and it is a pleasure to exchange opinions with them and to know them more every day.
During these months I saw many of them leaving the website for different reasons: disagreement with TE policies, misuderstandings, time problems... I think that it is a moment that, before or after, everyone of us will live.
Personally I feel that this is becoming something like a "vice", it requires a large time, and often doesn't allow me to dedicate myself to other activities.
Recently I'm thinking to reduce my activity here, in order to follow other things I'm interested in. Maybe I'll not post more than twice a week (now I'm doing it daily), or, at least, I'll do so if I'll resist ;)

TE is an addiction for sure, i am trying to reduce my time out here also for the reasons you talk about, but mostly it is quite time consuming... uploading pics everyday sounds like a killer, even once a week can be quite a lot sometimes, at least for me...
anyway, this is a good shot giorgio, especially for the bright blue sky and the cotton clouds... complimenti...

Hello Giorgio! Yeah this needs a lot of time and sometimes I think there is so much misunderstanding by writing to each other and you meant this and the other one understands that but this is the internet and lately there are a lot of discussions in our newspapers what footprints you should leave behind, it stays forever. I never published daily, maybe weekly or even monthly (meaning that you never become "famous"). Publishing daily would kill me to be honest, it wears you out. But coming back to your wonderful picture: I like the open space with the pretty summer clouds, a feel easy picture after a long winter here in Switzerland. Happy weekend, Barbara.

onestamente non saprei cosa dirti. io posto quasi quotidianamente (a parte quando sono in viaggio) attingendo al bacino di foto che scatto durante i miei viaggi.
non so se a breve rallenterò o meno la mia produzione e partecipazione. forse si...forse no. dipende quali altri passatempi hai...+

vedi tu. io continuo ad ammirare i tuoi campi intanto...

Ciao Giorgione,la foto e' davvero meravigliosa,colori e dettagli notevoli,pero' c'e' un grosso difetto nel tuo lavoro,non tutti sanno l'inglese alla perfezione per cui della tua nota ho capito poco o niente,forse ci vuoi mollare? Eh no....anche col contagocce ma le tue prospettive devono rimanere..quindi esigiamo la tua presenza almeno 2 volte alla settimana,altrimenti sveliamo a tua moglie le tue nuove attivita'...eheheh....e poi scusa se ci lasci dove le leggi le cazzate che scrivo io? ;-) Buona Domenica,Luciano.

è interessante la tua nota. Se ti interessa ti dirò la mia, anche sono un nuovo arrivato.
Tutto quello che dici è sacrosanto, e a volte, nonostante il noviziato, provo anche io dei fastidi. Tra l'altro chi è nuovo ha anche il problema di farsi conoscere nella massa spaventosa di presnti nella comunità.
Bene, io penso che le cose vadano prese con il giusto approccio, in funzione delle nostre personali esigenze. Se pubblicare una foto al giorno è uno stress, perchè farlo? Se gratifica è bene continuare. Nessuno ci obbliga, Lasciare? perchè? anche una foto a settimana, ben pensata, che crediamo voglia significare qualcosa, arricchisce tutti.
Anch'io credo di dover frenare ogni tanto, e lo farò. L'importante è dominare la cosa e non viceversa, e poi, mi sembra che qui di amici veramente sinceri se ne trovino tanti come quelli che ti scrivono.Do per scontato il mio giudizio positivo sulla foto, sulla quale però hai dimenticato di dirci qualche cosa...

Caro Giorgio, ti capisco molto bene, spesso mi trovo anch'io nella tua stessa situazione soprattutto per quanto riguarda il tempo, io credo che siamo qui per piacere, per hobby, se diventa un obbligo uno stress è giusto frenare un pò ...
In ogni caso la foto è stupenda.

ottima nitidezza e colori vivi e naturali, solo leggermente saturati, spazio immensi, e splendido rapporto cielo terra con le nuvolette che danno profondità. Un tipo di scatto che a me piace e che cerco sempre di non lasciarmi sfuggire quando mi si presenta l'occasione. Quanto alla nota, c'è del vero in quel che diici, anche una cosa bella come TE può diventare una sorta di vizio e se ne può diventare anche un po' schiavi, coscientemente o incoscientemente. Fai ciò che ritieni giusto, solo tu lo puoi sapere, finora mi sono goduto i tuoi scatti e ne sono felice. Ciao!

se la foto che hai postato oggi e' in relazione alla tua nota, mi sembra di capire che TE e' come un bellissimo paesaggio, nel quale spesso si sta benissimo ma altre volte, quando il cielo si annuvola, si avvertono dei fastidi perche' si sa di cosa sono premonitori...
capisco esattamente come ti senti - e condivido la posizione di Benedetto, credo che la cosa fondamentale sia trovare il giusto equilibrio.
spero tu rimanga - c'e' sempre da imparare dagli altri, e le tue foto di sicuro sono un bell'esempio di ricerca di se'.

Je crois que chacun trouve son rythme qui permet de participer sans prendre trop de temps sur le reste de sa vie. J'aime cette photo pour l'impression d'immensité qu'elle donne. Le ciel est magnifique et les champs très colorés nous ramènent aux paysages de la prairie des westerns.

Ciao Giorgio. Hai dato un gran taglio ottenendo una visuale lunga che mostra bene la convergenza delle linee vero la collinetta in luce/ombra. Gran nitidezza e cielo bellissimo.
Per quanto riguarda la nota: la tua decisione è condivisibile. Prenditi i tuoi spazi. Solo non abbandonarci.

hello giorgio an image minimalist which has much relief and contrast a large PDC and saturated colors, a sky which gives volume very to make a splendid photograph it is necessary above all to make the photographs for the passion of the photograph and then to divide them with the others without any other postpones thought and especially especially not this to take the head, it is what I does on TE and to take of the pleasure has poster if not it is not the sorrow…

prima di tutto complimenti per la foto, poi per quel che riguarda la nota, sei libero di fare quello che vuoi ma sappi fin da ora che se decidi di smettere perdero'un amico con cui ho condiviso tanti giorni e tante foto discusse, siamo cresciuti insieme in questa comunita' e quando io sono arrivato dopo di te mi hai preso per mano e accompagnato in questo mondo.
grazie di tutto e almeno una volta a settimana (se proprio decidi di mollare) facci vedere una bella foto.

Ciao Giorgio, è un divertimento, mica una condanna, se uno per un periodo non gli va rallenta poi torna, te lo dice uno stakanovista di TE, io mi ci diverto per un paio d'ore al giorno, ma se per un po' di giorni uno è asente mica metton multe, uno sta qui per divertirsi e vedere belle foto, il giorno che non mi diverto più arrivederci e felice di aver conosciuto tanti amici, splendida come al solito la tua interpretazione del tavoliere, magnifico il cielo, fatti sentire quando torni, ciao Silvio

io sono giunto alle tue stesse conclusioni già da un po'- ho ridotto a due alla settimana, e così la cosa è abbastanza gestibile - ma sto pensando di ridurre ad una la settimana - credimi, ti godi meglio anche le foto degli altri - puoi vedertele con calma, quando vuoi - devi solo superare la smania che prende -credo -ad ogni fotografo di voler pubblicare ongni giorno, specie i lavori che si sono appena fatti e di cui si è entusiasti. Io metto sempre le mie foto in quarantena prima di pubblicarle. Se riesco a resistere per un mese, poi rivedendole capisco meglio quelle che valgono qualcosa dalle altre... Fai la prova e vedrai che ti godrai meglio TE.
Questa foto l'ho aperta solo perchè mi piaceva questo cielo "stratosferico" e ho fatto bene perchè merita.

Once a week or daily, it doesn't matter. But seeiing your pictures i hope you keep on posting.
Great landscape view here. The enormeous sky together with the lines on the ground give the photo a great depth.

realmente a política de moderação desse site anda muito esquisita nos últimos dias, mas temos que ser fortes e persistentes, pois é um ambiente muito agradável aqui, toda a comunidade. Quanto a foto ficou ótima, com um bom contraste de cores e qualidade excelente. Belo trabalho amigo.

I realy understand your dilema, Gio. I must say i had the same problem and decide to reduce the time spend on TE but still it is to fun to let it. You se so many interesting places like this beautiful landschape of you and learn so much. So hope to see more work of you and that you find balance.

la foto è splendida, lo spazio infinito... le tue foto non sono mai banali, sei una presenza importante su TE.
Approvo comunque in pieno la tua decisione; TE deve essere un diverimento, non un obbligo, bisogna preservare il piacere di pubblicare e di andare a vedere le foto degli altri quando se ne ha voglia, pensando di meno ai punti e di più a scambiare quattro chiacchiere vere con coloro che sono disposti a farlo.

Caro Giorgio,
TE è un gioco e un divertimento e va preso come tale.
Diciamo che è l'effetto di una passione che ci accomuna, quella della fotografia, non di un lavoro. Avere alti e bassi è assolutamente normale ed umano, specialmente quando i nostri interessi sono molteplici nella vita. Posta quando ne hai voglia, quando senti l'esigenza di condividere le tue emozioni o semplicemente quando vuoi dire qualcosa usando il linguaggio della fotografia. L'importante è non smettere di colpo, anche perchè, dietro la fotografia, c'è l'amicizia di tante persone che ti apprezzano e ti vogliono bene. Se avrai piacere ne parleremo a Venezia, passeggiando tra le calli o a Treviso, davanti ad un buon bicchiere di prosecco :-)
Dimenticavo: la foto è bellissima, mi vien voglia di toccare le nuvole.

Olá Giorgio, I'm sure that many of us have the same conflict. I know I have and many times I slowed down and after a while the addition won once again. Many times I gave up and restarted again...not easy to get a good balance.
Anyway, this is a gorgeous picture of your fields, this time at ground level. The cloudy sky is simply amazing and making a great balance with the view. Nice to see the shadowed hill in the distance too.

Hello Giorgio,

I have with alot attention reads your note.
A lot members have indeed TE abandon, this for different motives.
Perhaps one advice, place one of two pictures in one week, that have you more time for other hobbies, perhaps also for your family.
I see also members return to TE, I remain here but place one picture in a week, I want life together with my wife.
A lovely nature picture out of a wonderful area.
Excellent captured, good composed and very well presentation.
I can enjoy of this wonderful picture

You are very right. I used to post almost everyday but it develops into a vice and certainly robs the time from other activities. I guess it's how things happen in life and it's certainly up to you to start navigating in other directions. I will certainly miss those beauties you have been posting at such fast rate, but again I think you will choose differently.

The capture is excellent of course and speaks for its self.

la foto è bellissima, con questi nuvole che sembarno camminarti sulla testa e il campo inquadrato centralmente.
Circa il tema che poni, voglio dire la mia: se ci lasciamo prendere dalla bulimia dei punti, siamo fregati ! TE è una bella opportunità per tutti, per conoscerci, dialogare, imparare attraverso le foto, i giudizi e le critiche degli altri. Prendiamola così. 2, massimo 3 foto a settimana, quando c'è tempo. Godiamocela così, altrimenti diventa uno stress.

What a beautiful sky with lovely cloud. very contrast between the blue and golden brown. Beautiful shot.

Our love for photography keep us here, and yet, we do have to balance our time between this and other things. I know sometimes it's hard, I find myself spending too much here. too. We just have to know and set a limit for ourself. I understand your conflicting feeling.

On the thumbnail I thought this was somewhere in the U.S. because of the wide open space and the wonderful sky. Great compo with the lines of the field leading into the picture and the large part left for the sky.
About your note: I can relate to it somehow but personally I haven't reached that point yet. However, I think posting an image doesn't require that much time (although you do want to write the best note possible and that needs time). Personally I wish I had more time to look at all those shots posted by others and make comments... I think as far as posting pictures is concerned, it doesn't matter how often you post - you need to feel the urge to post a shot and share it with others. Setting up a "rule" (e.g. posting every day or once/twice a week) is too much of a restriction, I think. Anyway, whenever you post a shot, I will be happy! :o)

Normalmente faccio critiche piuttosto fredde e tecniche, anche perchè penso che siano piu' utili di una semplice manifestazione di gradimento.
Ma per questa faccio un eccezione e mi limito a dire: che meraviglia.
Ho letto ovviamente anche la tua nota, che è un invito alla riflessione un po per tutti, soprattutto per chi, come me e tanti altri, postano quotidianamente o quasi). Grazie dunque per avere condiviso con noi la tua riflessione.

Ciao Gio, I know exactly how you feel & I agree with you 100%, it is like a drug or as others call it a virus, I guess it has many positives but also in my opinion the biggest problem is it becomes too time consuming, one must find a happy medium, I usually post a photo every 2 to 3 days & if someone comments I return,I find that works for me for now bur I always have the same thoughts as you. Nice shot & good luck.
