Idyllic pasture in Hampton Creek Cove Natural Area near Roan Mountain, Tennessee. This little known natural area is home to about two dozen horses and a few "farm dogs". The trail from the parking area leads through beautiful pastures up to Yellow Mountain Gap on the Appalachian Trail.From there it's only .4 miles to the fabled Overmountain Victory Trail shelter on the AT.

The picture is so idylic, part of me expects there to be a unicorn horn on the horse :) but my one suggestion on this would be to soften some of the colors, the yellows behind the horse almost look glaringly bright
