Photographer’s Note

Yesterday I was trying to find some new places to shoot on the hills away from the sea, and i was a bit curious about a place that has a small creek with lots of curves, and when i got there it seamed like the ocean because the night before the rain had simply been too much and the creek has just become many times larger than the usual. This place is near S. Marcos da Serra, a very small town in the midlle of algarve on the way to Alentejo.

Sergio, wonderful reflections, colours, and the misty effect. This last one, however, I think is not real mist but the blur of water due to long shutter time? (2seconds)? Anyway, a great photo. REgards, Pawel

Hi Sergio,

Almost like a painting.
Despite the strong clouds, it looks very serene and peaceful, but also your almost two colour toning on top and below work wonderful in here. The strong Lee gave you that great sky, but also just enough detail on the other side along the shoreline. Flawless composition and expsoure....excellent work.

Absolutely beautiful! Stunning reflections - I like the way the reflection is brown while the actual view has a blueish glow about it - and very nice subtle colours!

Olá Sérgio! Estou a ver que és como eu, um apaixonado pela água, sempre há procura de novos sítios para fotografar. A composição está perfeita e o cenário é realmente fabuloso. A tua selecção tonal é um pouco estranha (para mim, claro!), mas acho que resulta. Torna um pouco poética a fotografia, mas também um pouco "falsa", se entendes o que quero dizer. Mas o resultado final é bom. Estou a ver que usas o sistema de filtros da Lee. Acho que vou ter de investir nele, pois os meus não funcionam muito bem com a minha nova 5D Mark II (vinhetagem). Um abraço

I like it a lot. great mood, light, colours and composition with "the line" leading our eyes into the photo. looking for new places, a little bit further into the land was a very good idea.

Hello Sergio,

This one is really nice! It looks like you used a dual colour grad here, but the toning is very natural.
Yes, the two separate tones here make it very pleasant and the extra water in the small creek gives a nice reflection!
