Photographer’s Note
The citizens of Warren, Maine would like Sara Palin to help them complete this transportation project.
Gov. Palin has extensive experience with such bridges having been for it before in was unpopular to be for it.
At any rate there are a bunch of stranded pedestrians hereabouts so any ideas Gov Palin?
Palin Backed the Bridge To Nowhere in 2006
ST.PAUL — In her nationally televised speech accepting the job as John McCain's running mate, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin said she "championed reform to end the abuses of earmark spending by Congress" and opposed federal funding for a controversial bridge to a sparsely populated island.
"I told Congress, 'Thanks, but no thanks,' on that bridge to nowhere," Palin said Friday in Ohio, using the critics' dismissive name of the project. "'If our state wanted a bridge,' I said, 'we'd build it ourselves.'"
While running for governor in 2006, though, Palin backed federal funding for the infamous bridge, which McCain helped make a symbol of pork barrel excess.
And as mayor of the small town of Wasilla from 1996 to 2002, Palin also hired a Washington lobbying firm that helped secure $8 million in congressionally directed spending projects, known as earmarks, according to public spending records compiled by the watchdog group Citizens Against Government Waste and lobbying documents.

love the water. I'M not so sure about the background as it seems slightly blurry to me, but I don't know if you intended so or what's going on here.
Love the brige too!
nice job

Hi Tom,
Lovely reflection in the water and very nice daily life capture with houses among the trees. I see the remains of the bridge to nowhere in this shot well captured and the note is very informative. Great job Tom.
Best Regards
Jason.

Hello Tom,
I like the composition and the lovely tones. I am not so sure about the lack of sharpness in the background. Like the humorous note.

Hello Tom,
Lots of plays from politicians, as you know its same all over world. Your well build point of view excellently added the first leg of bridge at next shore an the pier at foreground with wonderful landscape. Seems place already have splendid tranquilized atmosphere there. Low angled light on trees and houses are wonderful too. Congratulations. Have a nice weekend.

Hello Tom,
I like this image from conception to implementation — the composition, light management, colors and resolution are excellent, as are the note and the title. There are many claims to "Bridge to Nowhere," and one is located prominently here in Virginia. Rt. 3 through Fredericksburg, Virginia runs over our Bridge to Nowhere to the Northern Neck, off the N-S Rt. 95 corridor, and the population density falls off precipitously. And yet some of the most historic areas in the country are there, including George Washington's Birthplace,Stratford Hall. In one of your N-S trips, you should stop over and visit. It would be a pleasure to give you a short connoisseur's tour.
Warm regards,
Bulent

Hey, Tom,
I hear she's back in DC trying to shmooze money for Alaska again. If she's so good why is she back with HER hand out?? :)) ...I love those warm fall colors and the light is wonderful. Great job with composition to keep the focus on that strange bridge. The framing to the left is really nice and I like the grass in the FG that goes beneath the bridge. Outstanding shot and funny note!! Many thanks and warm regards,
Shelly

About the photo: a lovely and sparkling landscape with the pontoon in foregroung giving a fine sense of depth. I like very much the colours and the afternoon light that makes it so warm. Really an enchanting place to have a stroll.
About the note:
"We have a saying in Italian which I try to translate: "All the world is (like) your country" meaning: the same things happen everywhere. Once I read a story about a village in India which was in strong need of a new bridge over the river, but that the authorities ignored for years. One day a big personality had to pass over the village. They build a wooden bridge in three days... The day after the big gun had passed they came and dismantled the bridge! Absolutely true.
All the best,
Donato

Hi, Tom.
Some subtle, marvelous low sunlight on top of a most relaxing view. Love those shreds of light cutting across the field on the opposite shore... Guess what : I wouldn't mind to sit here and enjoy the scenery with doggie and... a couple ice-cold beers. LOL! Y'all have a good day, give a big hug to them critters. See ya soon,
Fulvio.

Hola Tom,
The bridge brings to mind some movies where kids are going to bathe in the river by jumping from it. Wonderful composition and beautiful place.

Tom,
I am sure that you will get her help to finish this project if you promise her to get the entire State of Maine voting for Palin. Be aware that you won't get my support on that!
Funny image and note that at first don't go along very well, but the joke is a good one. I already started chuckling while I saw the thumbnail and read the title.

Hello Tom,
A very well composed shot, taken from a well-chosen pov, where the bridge acts as a link (almost) joining the f/g and the deeper aspects.
The colours display what's wonderful about autumn!
My eyes were constantly drawn to the house on the right, with its shadowy tree creating interesting tones on the roof and walls.
Kind regards,
Bev :-)
