Photographer’s Note
This photograph was taken when we were on holiday in southern Brittany last summer.
The church in the distance is that of the small town of Billiers.
This large area of marshy land with its weathered lichen clad fence posts is very attractive to photograph, but has the downside of producing hordes of mosquitoes which come to bite in the night.
The focus here has settled on the posts, leaving the distant town and church a little blurred. If I were to take the shot again, I think I would have used a smaller aperture to avoid this.
Taken as JPEG: PP in FastStone and PhotoShop 7.

Hello Peter!
That's a very eye-catching and truly beautiful picture!
I specially like the composition, with the fence in a diagonal line, starting from the very foreground and leading my eyes to the town in the background! All the image is very nice, with adequate sharpness and correct exposure! Colors are natural and nice too! TFS - Congratulations!
Warmest regards,
Neyvan

hello Peter,
a well composed picture with the line of posts givng a strong diagonal. I like the colours here. You do perplex me though, why hold on to this one for so long? If it were mine I would have posted it quite soon after taking it as it's not by any means an also ran.
best regards,
Bev

Hi Peter,
A beautiful picture, this motive is clearly seen with the eyes of an artist. The old fence is expertly placed inside the frame, particularly the nearest pole, that just at the corner. Fine clouds and good colours!
Best regards

Hello Peter,I haven't been on TE for a while so I am just catching up.I particularly like this shot, it has a painted feel to it,I think that it is partly the colours that give this impression, and the slight blur that you mention.
Good PoV with the fence nicely on the diagonal, especially as it leads the eye to the church.
Lovely textures too.
I like this one.
Tfs, regards Jean.

Hello Peter,
I think you are right about the aperture. However, this is a very well composed shot with the higgledy piggledy, wooden fence dividing the shot into its thirds.
I like how the textures and colours change from one side of the fence to the other.
Kind regards,
Bev :-)
I know you're not supposed to 'alter' shots on this site but, I would have been tempted to paint a couple of the roofs red, just to add that special touch of vivid colour to the shot.
