Photographer’s Note
As I mentioned in my previous post, Australia Day is a day to be laid back, relax, have a barbecue and a drink with friends,or attend the Australian Open and watch the best players in the world. It is also an excuse to wear or wave the flag (see workshop photo).Yet everything about us is controversial, with many wanting to change the date on which we celebrate the birth of our nation and there are groups which are also keen to change the country's flag.
The photo was taken outside Flinders Station in early afternoon when the light is not the best for photography, but being there...

Hi Klaudio, I'm really enjoying your Australia Day theme. This is a very Aussie shot - the boardies and thongs are spot on - and you've got a great composition with the beautiful architecture of Melbourne in the background. Very sharp image too, congrats from Lisa. PS: weird - when I went to check if the comment came out, no points appeared even though I allocated you 2??

Hello Klaudio,
Although taken in a busy city, you have certainly captured the 'layed-back' nature of the people.
A fine composition and though the time of day may not have been the best, you have coped with the light very well.
I have been watching the tennis, too.
Perhaps not quite so layed-back as these guys as I was snuggling in front of a warm fire and gasping loudly at the fine play!!
Kind regards,
Bev :-)

Hi Klaudio,
is fantastic to share pictures all over the world, in quite the same time they were shot. In fact, weather is cold here in Italy and there, I see it's hot..
I like the "reportage like" picture that describes very well a moment in your Australia Day. It is also an excuse to show your fantastic city. About the light, things happen when they want, sometime in a perfect light, sometime not, but your picture is nice in any case.

Hi Klaudio,
I like it always to see, in the middle of "our" winter, pictures from the other side of the world conveying the feeling of hot summer and your colorful, joyful picutre for sure does this... thanks for sharing!

Günther

Hi Klaudio.
I will declare my hand and state that I loathe Australia Day, being one of those who think we have not yet had our real Australia Day. But as you say, it's an excuse to have a 'barby' and congratulate ourselves, which is the pursuit in which we must be world champs.
Anyway, it's also a good excuse to take some great shots, and this is the best one of your series, I think. The old and new architecture, the large expanse of the inersection, the strong focal point of the group of youthful Aussies, and the more distant group across the street on the other corner - all make for a very good representation of the centre of Melbourne in summer. Good side-lighting. And not a goth in view, despite your location in front of the station!

Andrew

Hi Klaudio,
Good daily life shot showing younger generation in the heart of the city. Well chosen viewpoint. Hard light doesn't seem to matter.

Hi Klaudio
It looks like a grand day and we hear the heat is unbelievable. However it does not stop the Aussies from their celebrations. A good slice of city life shot.

Zdravo Klaudio,
Lepo je videti da Melburn nije samo brdo nebodera i teniskih terena :) Lep dnevni snimak fanova tenisa - na zalost ja nikad ne pratim Australian Open - jedino sto imam je live scores dok sam na poslu :)
Pozdrav,
Sneza

Hi Klaudio,
I really like your gallery a lot (and Australia and New Zealand being the most spectacular places on this planet and on this site!), and it is always a pleasure to read your interesting notes. I also fully agree to your introduction statements!
This image is another fine example of your excellent work. You have managed the difficult light conditions nicely. I like this relaxed atmosphere of a summer day and I could not trust my eyes this morning when I read in the newspaper that Melbourne is undergoing the warmest summer since 1939!
Best regards
Harriet

Dragi Dado,
A to nama, barem, ide dobro.
Puno te pozdravljam i držim palčeve za sve što poželiš.
Branko
