Photographer’s Note

Lighthouse of Foz do Douro in Oporto City during a great sea storm with 7 meters hight waves crashing agaist a pier.Just about 4 seconds after this picture the lighthouse was completly absorved by the wave.

Really great looking waves.
Photo taken at the right moment and with right (very short) exposure to capture all the splashes of water. Conversion to black is well done - uploaded photo has high contrast and lots of details. Maybe sharpening around the lighthouse is a bit too strong.

Wow. Perfect timing and pretty daring for you to be out there in such conditions. Black and white is a great choice for this composition.

You were clever in choosing such a short time of exposure, freezing the giant wave, with a great sharpness and a good contrast.
