Photographer’s Note

Geometry of Love is an album by Jean Michel Jarre, released in 2003 by Warner Music. This album has more in common with the preceding Sessions 2000 album than releases prior, but the style here is still more electronica than jazz. The music was to be lounge music, played in the background or in the chill out area of a club. The CD was only meant to come out in 2000 copies, but was later released as an ordinary CD. The album cover image is a pixelated photo of the pubis of Isabelle Adjani, Jarre's girlfriend at the time. The album was largely produced using Propellerheads Reason and numerous preset patches can be heard throughout...

Good morning Korkut

Expected to read something else in your note...about geometry?!...not about the real geometry...even if the lines and squares in your picture makes us to think about it.
But about the geometry of love...how lines interact at a certain point,starting from somewhere and ending to meet somewhere.
It`s geometry and chemistry.Geometry because of the lines,etc and chemistry because of the colors produced,mixed up in the laboratory.

TE'de karşılaştığım en sıra dışı, kışkırtıcı ve yaratıcı kişilerdensin. Fotoğrafını gördüğümde Korkut yine harika bir grafik etki ve renk zenginliği yakalamış diye düşündüm. Ama kareni dünyadaki en tanıdık geometrik şeklin çok güzel işlenmiş bir şekliyle ilişkilendirdiğini görünce yine 12'den vurdu diye düşündüm.
Doktorlukla iştigal etmektense reklamcılığa yönelmeni şiddetle tavsiye ederim.

Hi Korkut,

Not his best album (he made those in the 70's and early 80's) but the photo in combination with the cover is very clever linked to each other. The Geometry of Love is wonderful shown here and probably even better than on that album cover. Lines are strong and powerful, but also the chosen colour toning is deep and saturated. It would also work without those people, but now it brings a more alive feeling inside which i also can appreciate....very creative work.

Nice perspective and play of lines here...the diagonal lines create a dynamic picture even though the subjects are static...the colors are intense, a bit too intense in term of contrast IMHO, but overall a very nice picture.

Not only the geometry is nice, but the colors also enhance the sketchiness of the photo. I love that river of gold in the middle, but the rest is also very good. The contrast work works here. :) I like it.

Fabulous yellow diagonal, nice catch of the double couple in love talking about the swinging party they'll do together at night. I would have this image to post without knowing what to say in the note and title...and this title of Jarre fits so well. I want to buy a piece of your brain, krkt ;-) nice pubis :)

The strong diagonal structure makes this a compelling image. Of course, the fact that it is shot at the Castello Sforzeco, where Leonardo spent 17 years, makes it all the more appealing to me. In 1499, however, when the French invaded Milan and Leonardo left with his small band of assistants, he spent a year or two "on the road" — Pavia, Venice, etc. In 1502-1503 he wrote to the Court of Beyazit II, and applied for a position as civil and military engineer in Istanbul. He wanted to build a bridge over Haliç, and we did not hire him. His bridge was finally built Ås, over the Oslo-Stockholm Road.

Great shot. The different lines look fantastic...I really like pictures that capture these kinds of geometric patterns. The green and yellow tones are vibrant and the people sitting there break up those rigid patterns quite well, bringing another element to the picture.

I have to agree with Henk, your version of "geometry" is much more compelling that the one in WS :)
I've always known that art is everywhere, you just have to know HOW to look. the colours, the patterns, the random elements that turn the strict geometry upside down, all these thigs together create a fascinating image, I like it a lot.

most of your recent works uses graphical urban elements in order to build the narration of your photos... i think you reached such a level of perfection in what you do that you can use ANY of the parallel lines, curved or nicely shaped elements around you and build a story with it...

(and i also appreciate that you use human elements in your works - it always makes things look "natural")
