Photographer’s Note
This photo (of a 35mm slide) continues my series related to my trans-Sahara trek in 1972. After crossing the desert, the route, at its most southern point took us through Benin as we worked our way west and north again enroute to Timbouctou. After seeing very little wildlife, I was very excited to see this baboon in the scrubland.
