This is my fourth picture from my Vancouver Urban series.
I was taking pics of that reflection on the street when I saw this couple coming my way. I raised my cam up over my head and waited for them to come past. The focus remains on the lights on the street, but the I think the couple adds to the pensiveness of the shot. I leave the interpretations of this to you. ;-)
I wasn't sure about whether or not to post this as a colour or b/w pic. In the last minite I chose colour because the colour wasn't too dominant and it adds a little gloss to an otherwise dark pic. To see the other version click here: B/W version
Post-pro: I made diff selections and copied to diff layers, levels, curves, and sharpening done for each.

I like the way you have included the two charaters at the extreme right bottom corner of the frame as they are almost about to exit. Thats a nice touch. But there needs to be a greater more interesting subject on the left to give substance to this shot IMO.

Amazing composition and brillant colors. In fact, no elements are really interesting alone, but all together they complete themself very graphicaly. Very interesting shot!

This must have been a nightmare to post process mate, when I run into something with this amount of variation I sit on it for weeks...
I like the colour version best. There aren't many colours here but they help to differentiate the couple from their surroundings in a way that shades of grey cannot. I like the composition best, though, you've made great use of the wide angle by having those shadows stretch across the street linking the backdrop to the meter.
If I was feeling nuts I would have blasted them with a burst of off-camera flash, not TTL balanced with the background but a real blast, reminiscent of 1940s photojournalism where the flash bulb had two settings; 'on' and 'off'. But that would have yielded a very different picture... (and probably wouldn't have worked) ;)

In this one i think color is best. Not because the color itself but by the incredible smoothness it has. I continue to be amazed with your work over the colors. Do they come out of the camera like this or do you make some kind o special PP?
Here I like the darkness and the intimacy feeling the couple brings to the photo. Great placement of them in the composition.
In my inicial posting in the forums about mu website I forgot to include you in the thankings... Sorry about that... It was all made in a hurry.
But I thanked you later anyway...
