Photographer’s Note
Port Clyde a tiny fishing village at the end of the St. George peninsula is the home of the famous Marshall Point Lighthouse (seen in the movie "Forest Gump") at the mouth of the St. George River looking out to Muscongus Bay and the wide Atlantic.
If your ever in town you gotta try the fired calamari at the Harpoon Restaurant.

Hello Tom, the thought of fried calamari has made my mouth water, in contrast my eyes are sated & satisfied after seeing this image, the composition is good as is the clarity but the colour breaths life & warmth. A very nice image.

Hello Tom,
A very appealing capture of this lovely lighthouse at sunset. I like the presence of the lone seagull on the edge of the seashore. Lovely warm colours.

Hello Tom,
What a sky you catched for a very special view of the lighthouse! An impressive profile against this sky. The light spot is in balance with the sky colours and brings a lively touch.

Hello Tom! I have to try these calamaris :))) yes I am hungry but I will have raclette which means a lot of melted cheese. What a perfect photo, I like the little bridge leading us over and I mean the light in the house is just fantastic, the dot on the i for sure. What an evening! Greetings from the mountains, pink sunset but hiding behind the peaks. Barbara.

Hi Tom,
Fried calamari doesn't sound like a bad idea... especially with such a view. Love the pinkish amber tones of the sky.

Hi Tom,
Ah yes, one of your favorite spots. The beautiful sky with the almost silhouetted beacon in the foreground is very pretty.
The lone seagull is an added bonus.
Did you consider straightening the tilt on the beacon??? Or is that it's natural lean.
Superb capture.
Mmmm, fried calamari with just a touch of chili, and a glass of chilled white wine, one of my favorites.

Peter

Hello Tom,
Amazing reddish lights at horizon while your way leading us to lighthouse. It's silhouette and recognizable white path are very nice. Congratulations. Have a nice weekend.
I don't understand why you are not going to outside and taking same more fresh photos full with wintry scenes; Frozen waters, frozen trees ? I just dreamed to take photos with my self at -15° F (-26° C) but I felt cold with my self here under 86° F (30° C) then ended. If you want I can send to you lots of thick, dead trees because no body needs them even for cooking or burn them in wood fired oven for baking delicious bread/pizza.
Friendly Regards,
Ertugrul

Hello Tom,
A very well composed shot in which you have total contol. The eyes have to follow your directions, across the bridge to the beckoning light! Then, there is time to absorb the warmth of the situation and enjoy the calm of the evening.
Great use of the light.
Kind regards,
Bev :-)

Hi, Tom.
Dashing display of colors and a great angle on Marshall Point lighthouse at sunset. The only thing missing in this one is an ice-cold Bud, everything else is already here and makes a wonderful natural setting. All the onlooker's got do is simply sit and enjoy scenery and silence. Truly a fine job, TFS! Hope the cold's giving you guys a break. Y'all take care, have a nice sunday.
Fulvio.

Hi Tom.
beautiful and evocative color .. tough range of light .. beautiful scene .. lots of lines .. but I think I rotate clockwise maybe a couple degrees to make the lighthouse parallel to the side of the frame .. beautiful and thoughtful scene .. the calamari sounds great ... take care, John

Hi Tom,
I do light the way you captured the light against the sunset. it has a totally different ambiance than your daylight shots of this landmarks. It's not alweay easy to capture the light, but it's always well-worth it.

I don't know why I didn't see this one among my favorites...
being rather distracted lately...
Lighthouses always fascinate me and this photo is a great one with this golden light and red sunset. Just the colours of the sky and water justify the picture.
If I may say my opinion, I'd have set the lighthouse a bit more to the left.
Best greetings,
Donato
