High tide in Piazza San Marco Photo

Photographer’s Note

Another pic during a high tide day in Venice.
I have taken this photo because i liked the reflection effect of yellow chairs on water, it's suggestive. The light was bright, so colors and contrast are good.

...and i think that pigeon liked walking on water! ;)

Well I like this picture from the same reason you do : nice colors, beautiful reflections, bright light. A very graphical composition. It is sometimes hard to say where the reflection stops and where the real chair begins, I like that. I didn't see the pigeon at first glance, maybe it's a bit close to the edge, but he sure looks like he's performing a miracle! :^)

A good idea to let the chairs take one half and leave the rest to water. A good choice too to let the lower end of the legs follow a corner to corner line thus forming an unseen line that breaks the vertical pattern. Hope you understand, not sure I do myself ;o)

The bird is a nice surprise detail.

Fabulous picture, really well taken. I love the composition, and the way that the chair legs look almost impossibly long. Almost abstract! And that pigeon? What a star!

Nice capture of the high water. It has a surreal sort of presence to it. And at the same time a calm and natural presence instead of the corrosive and dangerous presence in reality. The colors of the shot really bring that calmness to it as does the pigeon at the bottom. The reflections are really excellent. And I like how the reflections make the chairs seem awkwardly tall as if they were built to stand in water like this all the time. They extend deep into the water and dissolve nicely as they reflect. Saw the thumb on the home page and was intrigued, it's all been said and it's the elongated effect of the chair legs which is impressive and as you say sugestive of a city built on water. I like the pigeon there but then find I might prefer he wasn't there and wonder if you shot also with him out of frame? Regardless it's excellent.

Per qualche motivo, questa me l'ero persa... bel pattern, soprattutto per il raddoppio nei riflessi. Poi sembra che ci sia una bandiera italiana nell'acqua. E mi piace come nella frame richiami il giallo che è il colore dominante. Il piccione 'a mollo' da un ulteriore tocco di allegria!
Bella e ben studiata... non è difficile capire che sia piazza San Marco, vista l'acqua 'alta'!

Bei colori e bello il bordino che richiama il colore delle sedie.

Volendo fare la punta, sono un po' perplesso sulla scelta del campo: lo avrei fatto o più ampio per vedere l'orizzonte (i miei occhi vanno sempre in alto a cercare di vedere "oltre") oppure l'avrei stretto per sottolineare il "pattern" dei riflessi delle sedie. Ma va benissimo anche così.

scoperto per caso la tua galleria....e sono restato colpito da questo piacevole gioco di specchi (sono anch'io un amante del genere....)

mi piace il taglio e la profondità di questa immagine...ed il riflesso fa molto "impressionismo"
