Photographer’s Note
Perast is an old town by the Adriatic sea in Montenegro. Today it's just a small village with a few hundred inhabitants, but in the 18th century it was a fairly important town, belonging to the Venetian Republic, boosting of 16 baroque palaces, 19 churches, 4 shipyards and a fleet of about 100 ships.
One of the famous sons of Perast was Matija Zmajevic, who in the early 18th century travelled to Saint Petersburg, where he entered the service of Peter the Great, became an admiral in the Russian Baltic fleet and successfully fought the Swedes.
Today only memories remain of the glorious past of Perast, but it's a nice place to stop for a short while on a sunny day.

Hi Gert. Great view on this sunny day where the sun illuminates the stones and the water retains its mysterious blue. My Albanian forefathers stayed a while in Kotor as refugees centuries ago when they fled from the Ottomans. Ultimately they settled in Zadar, in Croatia. Nice idea to include the white boat.Regards. Klaudio.

Gert,
Your composition is great here with the inclusion of the boat in the foreground. The boat is placed at a great angle giving the shot a nice sense of direction. The dock leads the eye into the shot nicely. The lighting and colors are great with excellent sharpness and detail. The mountains provide a nice backdrop for the scene.
TFS,
Asa

a pity there is the second boat, more modern, less good looking, without it i would say excellent, but the composition attempt IS great, well balanced, and BTW a fine highlight management except for the thing in bottom right corner

Hej Gert,
looking at this breathtaking image leaves a deep impression of an almost too strong light and too bright colors, especially the blue of the water looks unreal. This color is so strong that it is suppressing the strength of the weathered rocks. For me it seems that you have nearly reached the limit of digital photography. But maybe it is a problem of my monitor? Nevertheless I am deeply fascinated by this capture of an almost forgotten place. TFS!
Warm regards
Harriet

Hej Gert,
This is the kind of picture that makes you long for summer. All necessary details are here; water with beautiful reflections, interesting architecture and a thrilling landscape. And don´t forget the red detail!
Are there any good hotels and restaurants ariund?

Hi Gert, stunni ng colour of water, so deep blue. Beautiful palace on the shore, old houses, I would stay there with pleasure not only for a short time. The atmosphere is so lazy, it would be wonderful to sit, admire mountains, sea, and do nothing...

Hej Gert,
interesting note and a very nice, very pleasant view, especially when you look at it while it's snowing outside, and it is cold! A bit of old history in combination with a beautiful scenery makes it a very interesting place. I like the boat which you included in the photo to balance the red-roofed houses in the distance. Anyway, it's curious that this composition of this shot makes me want to see what is there, on the right, next to the houses and the trees! :)
Have a nice day!
Best regards,
Elena

Hi Gert
Great reflections on the water and a nice bit of history with the picture. I like the history of a 100 ships and now only a few boats...time does change everything
