Photographer’s Note

After my The "stormy petrel" photo, one more take from Porto Lagos, with a diferent framing and composition, taken about 45 minutes later. I hope that you wouldn't mind if i copied the note of that previous post:
Here you can see the small Monastery of Aghios Nikolaos (Saint Nicholas), and the bridge that connects it with the mainland of Thrace, very close to the fishing village of Porto Lagos. This is the place were the Thracian sea is separated by a thin line of land from Lake Vistonis (or Vistonida), a natural paradise, a protected area, where several endangered species of birds find shelter.

This little monastery, belongs to a very larger Monastery, Moni Vatopediou (one of the largest and most important in the "Holy" mountain of Athos), that become "synonymous" with the largest political-economical scandal of modern greek history, involving several ministers, priests, monks, lawyers, bankers and stokebrokers, the most peculiar "bunch" of thieves in the long history of looting public property in Greece. And it's this exact place, Lake Vistonida, that was the "stormy petrel" that led to the explosion of the scandal.

love the light magic in this one. the color in the water is amazing; i'd love to 'dive' into that blue-ness to the extent that i feel that the subject - the bridge 'complicates' the mood a bit :))

Very strong color tones of blue and red! I suppose the strong pixels come from the 30s exposure. Amazing blue!

The best part must be the calm water reflection that is telling me it is very peaceful evening blue hour with a little bit of sunset color tone thrown in.

Nicely composed with diagonal walkway. This reminds me that I would also try 30s exposures for my new full-frame sensor.

as usual a pleasure for the eyes! This blue hour with the last colors of the day is enough to carry out a beautiful image, but the reflections are just too much. Stunning is all I can say about this shot!
