Photographer’s Note
>>Different view of the city, featuring the convoluted lines of the BR-101 route, a major highway that connects Brazil from North to South, basically following the shore.
Brazil's rural area of São Caetano (Rio Novo do Sul municipality), marked by its mountainous relief, the beginning of the Serra do Mar, was the destination of many European immigrants (Swiss, Belgian, German, Dutch, etc.), who were given land by the imperial government in the 1850-60s, for the purpose of colonization and development. Likewise, this was the case of this property.
In the middle of the frame, in the background, we can see a featuring landscape of the region. The “Frade e Freira” (Friar and Nun) is a granitic formation located in the Itapemirim municipality, being contiguous to Cachoeiro de Itapemirim, Rio Novo do Sul, and Vargem Alta, in the state of Espírito Santo. Inspired by its shape, which resembles the figure of a friar and of a nun, some legends have appeared as to the origin of such a formation. The myth says that a friar and a nun have fallen in love. Since their lives must be dedicated to serve God, they couldn’t stay together. However, their love was so great that the only way they could be together was to be transformed into two opposing mountains, in whose form one could eternally admire the other. In the background hills, we can also see some of the city of Rio Novo do Sul.
This shot was made from a different perspective from the same property of last year's pictures of this region.

Hello Victor
What an impressive view... It's breathtaking and very far from everything I could imagine about Brazil.
A great composition, all is perfect : the vertical format to bring the immensity of the hills out, the choice of DOF, the soft and natural colors, the very well handled light, and the very fine sharpness.
Very good work.
Regards
Karine

FELIZ ANO NOVO.

Hi Victor!
The composition is very appealing and the fence is a nice addition to look at!
But what I really like on your photo is the shadows of the floating clouds!! really nice! :)
