First out on Sunday allowed us break the one inch ice on the Oxford Canal. A faint ray of sun came out just to pick up on the moored narrow boat and the dried grass on the left bank..

je me souviens de ces petites péniches sur les canaux de Londres
le cadrage est très bien vu
la glace, le givre sont illuminés par les couleurs

Great action shot. Used to do quite a bit of narrowboating, and would have loved to have gone out in that situation to plough through some ice :-)
I like how you've balanced the composition of the image, with the length of your boat leading you into the picture, balanced with the moored boats on the left.

I like this glowing boat in this foggy, icy morning! I have never seen a canal blocked by ice!
Thanks for sharing this great capture!

From the thumbnail I suspected that this was the Oxford Canal. How nice to get confirmation. I never saw it with the thick ice sheet, but I remember it well from the 70s when we lived in Oxford, and also from the 90s when we watched Inspector Morse with religious fervor.
Warm regards, and thanks for the trip down memory lane.
