Photographer’s Note
The subway is an interesting place in South Korea, a place where there are simultaneously a lot of people and no one. People push past each other to get on or off, sit squished between total strangers, but it's a rare occurrence indeed to see conversation, and the vast majority of people seem to use their time on the subway to retreat into their cell phones, mp3 players, or just their own minds for a short reprieve between socially demanding work and home lives.
