... this photo was taken from aboard the MV Liemba an old iron steamboat which ploughs the route down Lake Tanganyika from Tanzania into Zambia...
en route, people from villages along the lakeshore come to the steamboat at all hours of the day and night to trade or simply to on- and offload passengers...
taking this boat was for me one of the most quintessentially African experiences during a longer trip through this beautiful continent, hence the title

This brings back memories. Did you have to disembark into one of the small boats or were you lucky enough to get off at a proper port?
This picture gives some idea of the chaos every time the bots pulls into a village, jut a pity you couldn't get the tips of the 2 closer boats into the picture, but this is a minor criticism.
