Photographer’s Note

Just came back from the short trip to my lovely Serbia, I really got lucky that last Thursday was a fairytale day, wonderfully snowy and foggy. This photo was taken in one of the fields by the road leading out of the town. It's actually a colour photo...;) Believe it or not, completely unedited, except for the raising contrast a bit (it was really foggy). No crop either.

Oh and it's time for another New year's wish...ok, I just remembered one that I received a long time ago from a dear friend and I will wish it to you now, dear TrekEarth collegues:

**N.B. the word God is freely changeable into any other that suits you ;)

Wonderful composition. These trees look lost in the vast whiteness of their surroundings. I'm not sure what type of pp you did but it is extremely effective. This is not how I think of Serbia, which makes it even a more pleasant surprise. Well done!

I don't know why but your photo Marija, gives me the feeling from a dream, this kind of dream in which we see something nice but if you try to catch it, goes more far, becoming thus inaccessibility.

Beautiful dear Marija! I don't want to cast a roll of words over this one; it's so poetic that I don't want to spoil it. Just one word to tell you that I also would like to see this same photo without the vigneting to increase the whiteness/pureness of the scene. But it's also great the way it is.

This is really beautiful, Maja! The fog and snow just isolate the trees wonderfully. It appears they have huddled together to stay warm, to protect each other from the wind and snow. The regularly spaced tree trunks contrast nicely with the uncontrolled tangle of snow-dusted branches above. (I agree it would be good to correct the vignetting, though.)

Here in Los Angeles we have the fog today to take such a shot, but not the snow (ever!) So I can enjoy real winter indirectly, through your image.

A dreamy bouquet for your wellcome.
A dreamy bouquet in the middle of white vastness, a presence in otherwise quiet and calm scenery.
This is a feeling comming from this photo and it remembers me of a poem from one of slovenian great poets, Jopis Murn Aleksandrov (my favourite). It is only in slovenian..

NEBO, NEBO

Nebo, nebo
in neskončna, brezmejna ravan!
Pijano oko
žari in iskri
in vpija ta svet prostran.

A dreamy shot, the one in which it is possible to immerse... there is some vignetting but here it doesn't disturb the mood at all.
